In 2007, the Mercer Island School District bid farewell to Cyndy Simms, who announced she was ready to bring her passion for improving learning to the Walnut Valley Unified School District in Southern California. Cyndy Simms acted as Superintendent in Walnut Valley for three years before retiring. An articulate and knowledgeable individual, Cyndy Simms functions as a prominent figure in educational administration who has lectured at forums such as the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE), national conference and the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future (NCTAF) national conference.
