Renowned immigration attorney Cyrus Mehta is the founder and managing attorney of Cyrus D. Mehta & Associates, PLLC, in New York City. Holding law degrees from the University of Cambridge in England and Columbia Law School in New York, Mehta has also achieved a wide variety of awards throughout his career, which spans more than 20 years. In 1997, he received the Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award for exceptional contributions in the field of immigration law. Recently in 2011, the American Immigration Lawyers Association honored Mehta with the Michael Maggio Memorial Pro Bono Award for his extensive pro bono representation, as well.

In addition to his awards and daily responsibilities at Cyrus D. Mehta & Associates, PLLC, Mehta has held several senior-level positions with legal organizations throughout his career. From 2000 to 2003, he was the Chair of the Immigration & Nationality Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. In addition to serving as Secretary for the New York City Bar Association from 2003 to 2007, Mehta was appointed Chairman of the Board for the American Immigration Council from 2004 to 2006. Mehta currently acts as the Vice Chair of the Ethics Committee for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is a member of the AILA’s Civil Rights & Civil Liberties and Annual Conference Planning Committees.
