Dan Nichter possesses a long history of public service in Franklin County, Ohio. In the Franklin County Treasurer’s Office, he served as a Delinquency Analyst, arranging late payments of real estate taxes or prosecution in delinquent cases, as warranted. Nichter next became Chief Deputy in the Recorder’s Office, where he oversaw the filing of hundreds of thousands of documents and supervised a staff of 65. Subsequently, Nichter accepted a position as Director of the Franklin County Development Department. In addition to managing the department’s annual budget of $11.2 million, he acted as Secretary of the Rural Zoning Commission, the County Planning Commission, and the Board of Zoning Appeals. In 2008, Dan Nichter joined the City Council of the City of Hilliard, serving for 2 years. As a student at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, Dan Nichter studied accounting, finance management, and real estate, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During this period, he also obtained real estate and real estate broker’s licenses and began a 25-year career as a realtor for Buyers Source Realty Group. Dan Nichter retains membership in the National Association of Realtors and the Columbus Board of Realtors. In addition, he shares his expertise in real estate, finance, marketing, and management as an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University. He previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Columbus State Community College from 1988 to 1998 and again from 2005 to 2007. Through his experience as a realtor and public servant, Dan Nichter gained knowledge of performance-based budgeting, negotiating, employee motivation and management, task analysis, strategic planning, and business leadership. Later, he focused on residential and commercial loans as a Loan Specialist at The Guernsey Bank. Formerly a board member of Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Columbus, Dan Nichter continues to support that organization, as well as St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church. In his leisure time, he enjoys volunteering at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and reading the Bible. Dan Nichter also takes pleasure in softball, baseball, golf, and Ohio State football.
