Fighting for a democracy that stands up for equality and justice

30, Falls Church, Virginia

Daryn Cambridge is the Assistant Director for the Democracy Matters Institute, a non-partisan, non-profit 501©(3) organization that works with and trains young people how to be effective grassroots organizers, especially around the issue of money in politics and other pro-democracy reforms. Democracy Matters promotes clean and fair elections that remove politicians and the political process from the grips of big money special interests by allowing candidates to qualify for full public financing for their campaigns.

Before joining Democracy Matters Daryn spent three years as a instructor and supervisor with the Close Up Foundation, the nation’s largest civics education and engagement organization, where he taught workshops to high school students from all fifty states and several countries around the world. He has also been a crew leader with the Student Conservation Association, a teacher for Putney Student Travel’s Excel Program, and consultant for Project Agape, the internet company that designed the Causes application on Facebook.

Daryn received his BA from Middlebury College in 2003, where he was an English/Philosophy joint major and a Geography minor. He received his MA in International Training and Education with a focus on International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, DC. He lives in Falls Church, VA with his wife Alyson and their dog Reginald.
