Dave's Status Updates
Classically trained since the age of three and a former New York All-State jazz pianist, producer/songwriter Dave Liang has worked with artists on Universal, Warner, Bad Boy, Yamaha, and Nettwerk Records. His primary project The Shanghai Restoration Project (TSRP) debuted as MSN Music’s “New Artist of the Week” in early 2006 and became the #1 Electronic Album on the site during the month of January. Since then his projects have reached #1 on various electronic charts (Amazon, iTunes) in addition to being heard on tastemaker radio stations such as NPR, KCRW, and KEXP. TSRP songs have been featured in promotional campaigns for LVMH/Kenzo Parfums, Christian Dior, Dove, TIM Mobile, Microsoft, SanDisk, TiVo, and Diet Coke. In 2008, select tracks were used in NBC and BBC’s broadcast coverage of the Olympics. In 2007, SRP partnered with China Records (the Chinese government’s record label) to produce Remixed and Restored Vol. 1, a project remixing select classic Chinese hits from 1930s Shanghai. Liang holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University. |
