Central Wholesalers’ Services and Training Programs
October, 2011
by David Baxley
As Executive Vice President of Central Wholesalers, Inc., I oversee operations of a company specialized in multifamily and commercial maintenance products and services. The firm was established 30 years ago in a small town in Maryland and has expanded through attention to customer service coupled with competitive pricing. Central Wholesalers blends the convenience and ease-of-use of catalogs with personalized services that help clients reach new levels of employee training and profitability.
Central Wholesalers’ services are diverse and include custom blinds and screens, lock smithing, tub glazing, and kitchen renovations. The firm also provides inventory control and account management services. The latter reduces paperwork through e-mail invoicing solutions and the creation of custom account codes for invoices. We also simplify accounts with multiple invoices through providing a single-invoice summary of all purchases. Central Wholesalers’ inventory control options focus on maximizing efficiency through simplified ordering systems, custom-designed storage space, and consolidation of unorganized materials.
The educational programs offered by Central Wholesalers are tailored to the specific needs of maintenance professionals. HVAC classes are held in spring and fall, coinciding with seasonal changes in weather. Other programs include Solderless Systems for Repairing Leaky Pipes, The Latest in Lighting Technology, Re-Key Locks, and Repair Refrigerators. A recent summer course, Safety on the Job, focused on work-relevant issues such as hazard communication, lead paint, asbestos awareness, blood-borne pathogens, and material safety data sheets.
One of Central Wholesalers’ most innovative offerings is the Waterwatch Program, which provides extensive water audits combined with expert LEED Green Associate guidance in selecting efficient fixtures. This results in a win-win scenario of increased water conservation, lower water bills, and eligibility for government and water company incentives and rebates.
