David Kerr started his real estate career in 1975 working for Johnston & Daniel Ltd, Toronto, Canada’s leading real estate brokerage firm handling the finer homes of Toronto. It still maintains that distinction today.

In 1976 David won the President’s Award for high sales volume and in 1977 was appointed Assistant Vice-President.

In 1979 he opened his own real estate brokerage company, David Lloyd Kerr, Ltd., in Toronto, and was involved primarily in commercial transactions. One of his customers, Morguard Properties Ltd., was a major Canadian real estate investment/development company with over one billion dollars in assets.

In 1980 they hired David to be their Head Office Aquisition Co-ordinator, and assistant to the Sr. Vice President, Acquisition/Development. He worked there until 1982 and was involved in over $100,000,000 in acquisitions including a large office tower in downtown Toronto, and a major shopping mall in Vancouver.

In 1982 David Kerr went to work as Vice-President and Director of Wood Gundy Realty Ltd., a subsiduary of Wood Gundy Ltd, Canada’s second largest investment dealer/stock broker. As part of Wood Gundy’s corporate finance division, real estate finance department, David was involved in some $60,000,000 in commercial real estate transactions.

In 1989 David Kerr and his wife and 3 children moved to Clearwater, Florida, to be closer to his wife’s family. After the move David was involved primarily in commercial appraisals for a number of years and then went back into general real estate.

By 1997 David Kerr was the top sales agent at the Realty Executives office in Palm Harbor, and he was off again involved in his love of real estate sales.

In 1999 David formed High Point Real Estate Corp. which has grown over the years. Averaging about $25,000,000 in real estate sales per year, last year’s (2007) sales were almost $30,000,000.
