Our guide to finance careers concludes with overviews of more finance career options.
5. Corporate Finance Companies need money to operate, grow, and thrive. Should you choose a career in corporate finance, you will be one of the individuals charged with helping companies find money to advance their business. Your goals will be to procure funds for day-to-day operations, business acquisitions, and manage the business’s income. Companies large and small require these professionals, so you will rarely be short on work.
6. Money Managers On Wall Street, there are buyers, and there are sellers. Money managers are on the buyer side of the equation. Every day you will apply your proficiency in quantitative methodology to make the buys your clients desire. Oftentimes, professionals with a background in investment banking transition to money management positions.
7. Financial Planners Every individual, business, and family has plans for the future. Financial planners take on the responsibility of helping them flesh out those plans appropriately and logically using the financial resources available to each client. Because such a wide range of investments exist, financial planners must stay abreast of tax information, estate planning options, and general investments available. Above all else, a good financial planner understands how to relate with people and work with them to accomplish goals.
8. Real Estate A market constantly in fluctuation, real estate is not a simple field, but it can be rewarding for those who know how to deal with people and juggle a multitude of responsibilities. Real estate specialists work in brokerage, leasing, development, appraisal, property management, construction, and other fields, all of which comprise the multi-faceted real estate industry. With a degree in finance, potential employers will find you more appealing. Make sure to also acquire a regional license if you want to be a real estate broker.
