David Haskell grew up in New York, NY and attended Yale University where he was active in the Baker’s Dozen and Whiffenpoofs, Yale’s leading acapella groups. In 2000, David was chosen as a Harry S Truman Scholar for his active service work; he was again chosen for another fellowship in 2001 when he became one of the first 40 recipients of a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to study at Cambridge University. While studying architecture in the UK, David and friends began TOPIC Magazine. He has continued to run and grow this operation out of his loft in Brooklyn, NY. David is himself an active writer and has contributed to numerous online and print publications on urban life. David is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of TOPIC Magazine, a vibrant social commentary glossy based out of a loft in Williamsburg. David is also involved with a variety of nonprofits focused on rejuvinating the American city.
