Dr. Dennis Harrsch is a practicing medical physician at Pennsylvania’s historic Norristown State Hospital, a facility that boasts some important firsts in American medical history. Established in 1880, it was the first hospital to house a pathology department. It was also the first American hospital to recognize female physicians. Today it serves as a psychiatric hospital that provides treatment for patients with acute mental disorders who need long-term care. Dr. Dennis Harrsch is trained in both pharmacy and osteopathy. He received his education in the former specialty at Temple University School of Pharmacy, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1983.He was elected to the Rho Chi Society, the national honor society in pharmacy due to his distinguished academic achievements. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990. Dr. Dennis Harrsch completed his residency training in allopathic family practice at Abington Memorial Hospital in 1994.

Before joining the staff of Norristown State Hospital in 2008, Dr. Dennis Harrsch worked at Springfield Family Practice, one of several family practices where he served following the end of his medical training. Dr. Dennis Harrsch is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
