Domenic Gatto became the owner of the Atlantic Express Transportation Corp. in 1972. Initially, the company covered just 16 routes; today, Atlantic Express is the fourth largest school bus company in the United States, and Domenic Gatto currently fills the position of CEO. Domenic Gatto: The Grace Foundation of New York

As a prominent businessman who owns and operates Atlantic Express Transportation, Domenic Gatto supports multiple philanthropic organizations as part of his initiative to help those in need. One organization Domenic Gatto supports is The Grace Foundation of New York. Based in Staten Island, New York, the Grace Foundation’s stated mission is improving the lives of children affected with autism spectrum disorders, as well as their families.
Approximately 1 in every 166 children fall somewhere on the autism spectrum, characterized by developmental disabilities that affect social and communication skills. To enhance the lives of children with autism spectrum disorders, the Grace Foundation provides multiple opportunities for social interaction. Along with recreational programs such as bowling, swimming, drama, and little league, the Grace Foundation also provides a social skills program to help children with autism spectrum disorders interact with their peers. For families, caregivers, and parents of children with autism spectrum disorders, the Grace Foundation provides support groups and in-home respite services, allowing caretakers to also look out for their own emotional and mental wellbeing.
The nonprofit provides additional support by coordinating medical and care services, as well. Currently, the Grace Foundation of New York supports more than 700 families.
