Mr. Douglas Smith possesses extensive experience in establishing transformative changes within the companies for which he worked.
Possessing many years of professional experience, Mr. Douglas Smith established a solid reputation as an expert in the financial and technology fields. In his most recent position as an Operating Partner with Symphony Technology Group, Douglas Smith worked closely with a number of portfolio companies. Douglas Smith served as Global Chief Operating Officer of Capco, a consulting and technology services firm. Under Douglas Smith’s keen management, Capco rebounded from a $2.5 million quarterly loss to a $5 million quarterly profit. Prior to his work with Symphony Technology Group, Douglas Smith acted as the Executive Vice President of Mercury Interactive Corp. Douglas Smith also served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and led the company to 25% annual growth. Additionally, Douglas Smith served as the Managing Director of Hambrecht & Quist LLC and as Senior Vice President of Computervision Corporation. Douglas Smith began his formal education as an undergrad at Union College, where he studied Economics. Upon earning his Bachelor of Arts degree, Douglas Smith moved on to graduate school at Northeastern University. Serving as a Teaching Fellow, Douglas Smith attended school on a full scholarship. Douglas Smith earned his Master of Arts degree in International Economics and Affairs in 1977. When he is not working, Douglas Smith can be found enjoying the outdoors. Among Douglas Smith’s favorite activities are skiing, golfing, hiking, scuba diving, reading, and traveling. Douglas Smith is also actively involved in his community and participates in San Rafael, California’s Artworks Downtown. Mr. Douglas Smith currently resides in Ross, California.
