About Dr. Christopher Boshkos

Christopher Boshkos, M.D., F.A.C.P., is a transplant nephrologist in clinical practice for over 20 years in Akron, Ohio.

Dr. Boshkos obtained his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, from the University of Cincinnati in 1977 before beginning medical school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Boshkos graduated from OSU in 1980 and began an internship at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, eventually completing his residency there as well. Dr. Christopher Boshkos also served as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine during his tenure there.

Subsequently, Dr. Christopher Boshkos completed a fellowship in nephrology at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Christopher Boshkos also undertook a second fellowship in medical kidney transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital from 1986-7.

Upon completion of his training, Dr. Christopher Boshkos accepted a position with the Summa Health System Hospitals in Akron, Ohio. Additionally, Dr. Christopher Boshkos along with three other nephrologists founded Northeast Ohio Nephrology Associates, Inc. (NEONA, Inc.) in 1987. Since then, NEONA, Inc. has grown to seven physicians and a nurse practitioner housed in a stand-alone independent medical facility.

Dr. Christopher Boshkos served as the Medical Director for Renal Transplant Services at Summa Health System Hospitals from 1987 until the voluntary close of the program in 2009.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (F.A.C.P.), Dr. Christopher Boshkos has sat on several Summa Hospital committees, including the Investigational Review Board. Dr. Christopher Boshkos holds membership in the American Society of Transplantation, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Renal Physicians Association. Dr. Christopher Boshkos lives in Akron, Ohio.
