Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko began his extensive and decorated career as a medical practitioner by studying applied physics and mathematics at The University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1980. Following the completion of his undergraduate education, Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko pursued his Doctor of Medicine at The University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. After achieving his M.D. in 1984, Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko served an internship with McGill University and a residency in opthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute of the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He later fulfilled a Fellowship in Oculoplastic, Orbital, Lacrimal, and Neuro-Ophthalmic Surgery at the same location. Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1991, Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko remains dedicated to the safety and satisfaction of his clients. A member of numerous professional organizations, including the International Orbital Society and the International Society of Ocular Trauma, he has been named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International College of Surgeons, and the Neuro-Ophthalmic Surgical Society. Currently the owner and principal of his own practice located in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko obtained years of experience in his chosen field as the Chief of Surgery at Memorial Hospital, the Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. Dr. Geoffrey Kwitko has contributed extensively to the collective knowledge in his field of medicine by conducting clinical research in such subjects as optic nerve sheath decompression (O.N.S.D.) in pseudotumor cerebri, anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, radiation induced optic neuropathy, and central retinal artery occlusion. For his expertise and exceptional level of care and service, he has twice received honors from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He was also consistently elected one the Best Doctors in America from 2003 through 2010 by a survey of his peers.
