Without proper precautions and care, skin diseases of all types can take root. Follow our list of skincare tips for keeping your skin safe.

    1. Protect Your Skin from the Sun

Ideally, no one would venture outside for too long between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., when the sun’s rays are at their strongest and most harmful. However, this is not realistic and instead, it is necessary to keep in mind several skin care tips for dealing with the sun.

If you are planning to be in the sun for any length of time greater than 15 minutes, wear protective clothing. At a minimum, a wide-brimmed hat is an excellent deterrent against the sun’s rays. Some outlets and online stores also carry clothing specially designed to ward skin against ultraviolet (UV) rays.

Of course, some outdoor situations necessitate less clothing. In such cases, apply sunscreen to all areas of your body that will be exposed to the sun. Coat yourself with sunscreen at least half an hour before going outside. This gives the substance enough time to sink in. Be sure to apply fresh coats every two hours.

    2. Avoid Smoking

The dangers of smoking are well documented, but many people are not aware of the dangers of smoking that are specific to skin disease. Aesthetically, smoking causes your skin to wrinkle and to age prematurely. Smoking narrows the blood vessels located in the outmost level of your skin, limiting oxygen and nutrients from reaching your skin.
