Lawrence Broxmeyer, MDRenowned researcher, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer possesses a long history of accomplishment in his field. At present, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer serves with the N.Y. Institute of Medical Research as a lead Medical Investigator in Whitestone, New York, where he takes on research responsibilities focusing on the study of Parkinson’s disease, AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, phagotherapy, influenza, diabetes, and cancer. In this position, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer applies well over a decade of experience as a practicing internist and over a decade of experience as a basic science researcher in the area of infectious diseases, such as AIDS, the H1N1 virus, and other complex medical conditions, including diabetes and heart disease. Before becoming the founder and Director of the N. Y. Institute of Medical Research in April of 1996, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer served on staff at the New York affiliate hospitals of SUNY Downstate Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and the NYU Medical Center. During his time with these institutions, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer, in conjunction with colleagues in San Francisco and at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, was involved with treatment prior to and during America’s AIDS epidemic and was instrumental in devising a novel method of destroying AIDS mycobacteria. Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer has published many journal articles currently indexed in the National Library of Medicine’s Medline. Upon invitation, he has also recently contributed his research findings in a Chapter in Roy Sleator and Colin Hill’s textbook Patho-Biotechnology, published by Landes Bioscience. In addition to his professional position, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer has also participated in American College of Physicians. Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Far Eastern University Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in 1977. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania.
