A member of the Texas Medical Association and the Institute for Functional Medicine, as well as the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), Dr. Nancy Scheinost previously volunteered for the Health for All Clinic and the Brazos Animal Shelter. At Dr. Scheinost’s clinic, she began a program called Cruising to Fitness, which encouraged staff members to improve their health, with a cruise serving as incentive. Dr. Scheinost supports many charities, including American Heart Association, American Breast Cancer Association, and the Humane Society of the United States.

Dr. Nancy Scheinost specializes in the fields of osteoporosis, rheumatology, internal medicine, and autoimmune disease. She coauthored, with Dr. Roger R. Good and Dr. P. Pradeep Kumar, the paper Treatment of Hodgkin’s Patients with Large Mediastinal Masses and, with Dr. Elizabeth Barrett-Connor, The Prevalence of Symptomatic Osteoarthritis in the Elderly. While at Good Samaritan Medical Center for her internship and residency, she coauthored the paper Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome. Dr. Scheinost holds memberships in a number of specialist medical associations, including National Osteoporosis Foundation, the International Society of Clinical Densitometry, Inc., and Brazos-Robertson County Medical Society.

Dr. Nancy Scheinost completed her training in the medical field at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1993, where she served as a Fellow in Rheumatology. Prior to her internship at Good Samaritan, she completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned her first degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, magna cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1983. A dedicated student while in school, Nancy Scheinost, M.D., received a number of awards and scholarships, including an honors scholarship from the university and the Panhellenic Scholarship Award. She currently works at the private practice Rheumatology of Brazos Valley.
