A dentist with expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Pamela Sherman possesses more than 25 years of experience in the field. The head of a private practice in Ellicott City, Maryland, since 1990, Dr. Pamela Sherman completed a comprehensive education and performed a considerable amount of research prior to establishing her business. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Dr. Pamela Sherman narrowed her focus to dentistry. Dr. Pamela Sherman earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, an institution that houses a number of research facilities and special-needs clinical centers. After completing the rigorous four-year program in 1984, Dr. Pamela Sherman sought postgraduate educational opportunities and accepted a one-year residency in general dental practice at Francis Scott Key Medical Center (now Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center) in Baltimore, Maryland. Subsequently, she obtained her first position in the field as a General Dentist with Greater Dundalk Medical Center (now Johns Hopkins Community Physicians at Greater Dundalk). In the five years prior to establishing her practice, Dr. Pamela Sherman served as a Clinical Research Associate in the Physiology Division at the U.S. Army Institute of Dental Research (no longer in existence). Over the course of her career, Dr. Pamela Sherman has gained additional wisdom and given presentations at a number of conferences, including the American Association of Tissue Banks Seminar on Tissue Banking Issues of Today and the American Association for Dental Research Annual Meeting. Dr. Pamela Sherman also remains involved with her peers through memberships with numerous professional associations, including The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Maryland Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Middle Atlantic Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
