Bays, D.O.

Throughout his life and career, Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. has maintained involvement in a vast array of academic, professional, and personal endeavors.

Seattle, Washington

After graduating from Kirksville, Missouri-based Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to begin a one-year internship at Phoenix General Hospital. Upon the successful completion of his internship, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. remained at Phoenix General Hospital to fulfill his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. From 1985 through 1989, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. gained a high degree of clinical training through Phoenix General Hospital and further developed specializations in sports medicine, trauma surgery, and hand surgery through multiple medical centers in Arizona, California, and Washington. A three-time recipient of the Mead Johnson Clinical Research Award, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. also won First Place in the National Orthopedic Resident Clinical Paper competition. At the end of his residency at Phoenix General Hospital, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. embarked on a four-year period as a medical officer in the United States Navy. Becoming a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves after medical school and his residency, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. commenced his formal service at US Naval Hospital Subic Bay, in the Philippines. Over the next two years, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. performed as a Quality Assurance Physician Advisor and Assistant Department Head of Orthopedics, holding numerous responsibilities on the Executive Committee, the Credentials Committee, and the Quality Assurance Committee. From Subic Bay, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. returned to the United States to finish his military service at Naval Hospital Bremerton, where he served in a variety of roles. From 1993 to 2001, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. lived and worked in Branson, Missouri, holding affiliation with Skaggs Regional Medical Center. Relocating to the Puget Sound region at the end of this period, Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. has spent the past nine years at such hospitals as Olympic Ambulatory Surgery Center, Harrison Memorial Hospital, and Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Patrick Bays, D.O. is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Washington Osteopathic Association, and several other professional organizations.
