Gastroenterologist, Therapeutic Endoscopist, and Director of the Heartburn Center at Mercy Medical Center
A long-time student and practitioner of internal medicine and specifically of gastroenterology, Erie, Pennsylvania’s Dr. Patrick Hyatt is still developing an exciting career assisting others through his medical expertise. A member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Patrick Hyatt’s specialization makes him a critical asset to the Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland where he is employed. Dr. Patrick Hyatt began his studies at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Biology and Government. At the school, he was a member of the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and earned scholarships and awards for his academic excellence. After completing his pre-medical classes, Dr. Patrick Hyatt attended Duquesne University, going from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia as he began the pursuit of his Medical Degree at the Temple University School of Medicine. Graduating in 2000, Dr. Patrick Hyatt headed east to Brown University, where he completed his residency and a fellowship program, continuing to earn awards while also delivering presentations about gastroenterology and internal medicine, publishing an article in The American Journal of Gastroenterology, and working on a pilot study of photodynamic therapy for cancer patients with nonresectable cholangiocarcinoma. It was also during this time that Dr. Patrick Hyatt became a board certified gastroenterologist with the American Board of Internal Medicine, completed his certifications with the United States Medical Licensing Examinations, and received training for many of the procedures that are pivotal in his current role of treating patients. Currently serving as Director of the Heartburn Center at Mercy Medical Center’s The Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease, Dr. Patrick Hyatt is also a therapeutic endoscopist and gastroenterologist for the facility.
