A dedicated sports medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in orthopedics, Dr. Paul Suhey utilizes his expertise in a number of areas, including past positions as educator, lecturer, and medical director. Currently a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, Dr. Paul Suhey also serves as Treasurer of the Medical Staff at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pennsylvania. Dr. Paul Suhey offers his insights on sports medicine at numerous conferences. Past presentations include “Low Back Injuries in College Aged-Athletes” at the 23rd Annual Art and Science of Sports Medicine Symposium, “Throwing Injuries” at the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics 36th Annual Postgraduate Seminar, “Stress Fractures in Athletes” at the Second Annual Mid-Florida Sports Medicine Symposium, and “Clinical Assessment of the Painful Shoulder-Surgical Considerations for Glenohumeral Instability” at the Advanced Shoulder and Knee Seminar. In addition to supporting the medical community through educational efforts, Dr. Paul Suhey served in several administrative roles while working in Jacksonville facilities, including time spent as the Vice Chairman of Orthopedics at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, as well as the Director of Sports Medicine and Chief of Orthopedics at Riverside Hospital. Today, Dr. Paul Suhey sees patients through a State College, Pennsylvania-based practice, Martin & Suhey Orthopedics, which he co-founded in 2008. Dr. Paul Suhey holds a Bachelor of Arts from The Pennsylvania State University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; he garnered expertise in sports medicine through fellowships at the University of Virginia and the Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham.
