  • Interview with Rajan Bhatt, MD
    July, 2011
Dr. Rajan Bhatt is a cardiologist practicing in Phoenix, Arizona. Possessing a background in medical research, Dr. Bhatt received the 2004-2005 Distinguished Research Award from the University of Arizona Department of Medicine for his work with Dr. Vincent Sorrell on examining the effects of a cardiac MRI during sustained ventricular fibrillation. I enjoyed the opportunity to talk to Dr. Rajan Bhatt about some of his professional endeavors earlier this week. The transcript of that interview can be found below.

    Q. Thank you for joining me today. I know you completed your M.D. in 2000. Can you tell me a little about your clinical training experience?
    A. I’m glad to be here, thank you for the invitation. After I graduated with my Doctor of Medicine, I decided to pursue my MBA with a concentration in Finance and Strategy, which supported my work as Research Analyst at HealthIQ. In 2003, I completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona Medical Center. I later completed my cardiology fellowship at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center.

    Q. Your research efforts cover several different practice areas of medicine. What are some of your most recent research activities?
    A. In 2010, The Journal of American Society of Echocardiography accepted an article I co-wrote with three others, titled Are All Ventricular Septal Defects Created Equal? In 2009, Echocardiography published an article I co-wrote comparing LVEF obtained using single-plane RAO ventriculography and echocardiography in patients who had coronary artery disease and those without it.
