Dr. Scott Tetreault manages a private oncology practice in Sarasota, FL and is licensed in the states of Nevada, California and Florida.Dr. Scott Tetreault has conducted an extensive amount of research throughout his career as an oncologist. Many of his studies focus on cancer-related topics, such as the treatment of women with high-risk breast cancer or patients with non-small-cell lung cancer. Dr. Tetreault regularly conducts research that explores the effectiveness of various medications. In addition to his research, Dr. Scott Tetreault has published articles in journals such as Leukemia & Lymphoma, Bone Marrow Transplantation, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He also contributed an article called “New Diet Drugs are Effective—but Are they Worth It?” to the Tahoe Daily Tribune. His post-secondary career began when Dr. Scott Tetreault enrolled in Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Tetreault graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and then pursued post-baccalaureate studies in organic chemistry and physics. In July 1987, Dr. Scott Tetreault began studying medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, earning his medical degree four years later. That same year, he began an internship and residency in internal medicine through the University of Florida Health Science Center, learning through Shands HealthCare and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. He completed the residency and functioned as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Florida for a year before moving to California. Dr. Scott Tetreault opened two medical offices, one in South Lake Tahoe, California, and the other in Gardnerville, Nevada. The offices remained open until mid-1997, when Dr. Tetreault began an oncology fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. After completing the fellowship, he returned to Florida and opened a private oncology practice in cooperation with Florida Cancer Specialists, an organization that provides hematology and oncology services to patients. He also offered his experience and knowledge through professorships at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Florida State University College of Medicine. Due to his diligence and success, Dr. Scott Tetreault has won many awards and honors, including recognition as a Best Medical Specialist from Living Out East Magazine and Doctor of the Year in Sarasota, based on a vote by his peers.
