Elizabeth Rho-Ng attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied in the Plan II Honors Program. As a student in the Plan II Honors Program, Ms. Rho-Ng wrote a senior thesis and worked part time in the University of Texas Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts in May 1993. Elizabeth Rho-Ng subsequently worked in Pusan, Korea, where she taught English as a Second Language to adult students and professionals at English Language Services, International, a private language school. She speaks conversational Korean and Spanish. In August 1997, Elizabeth Rho-Ng enrolled at the Northeastern University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor (JD) degree in May 2000. During her time at Northeastern, she completed Cooperative Legal Education Program clinical jobs with a number of government offices and law firms, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for the Northern District of California; Kotin, Crabtree & Strong, LLP; and Adkins & Kelston, P.C. With this educational foundation, Elizabeth Rho-Ng then began her legal career, working for a year as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco. While assigned to the Criminal Division, Elizabeth Rho-Ng reviewed habeas corpus petitions and criminal appeals as well as composed memoranda opinions in criminal appellate matters, regularly presenting them to judicial panels for disposition. In fall 2001, Elizabeth Rho-Ng accepted her current position at Dannis Woliver Kelley, where she serves as the leader of the Special Education and Students practice group. In this capacity, Ms. Rho-Ng represents a range of educational institutions—including public schools, community colleges, county offices of education, and Special Education Local Planning areas—in legal matters and cases pertaining to student issues. She focuses on Special Education and Student matters, and regularly works on cases involving compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, student discipline proceedings, Public Records Act requests, and various student records and attendance issues.
