Worcester Polytechnic Institute by Emadeddin Muntasser, Emadeddin Muntasser's Blog on Bighsight
February, 2011
As a student, I attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. After graduating with honors and receiving my Bachelor’s degree from this university, I went on to earn my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, an endeavor I completed in 1990. During my time at the Institute, I studied several aspects of the electrical engineering discipline. Examples of some of the courses I attended include Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Electronic Design, and Advanced Computer System Design. For my Master’s degree, I wrote my thesis paper on the Electronic Design Expert System, which required a comprehensive understanding of analog electronics and expert systems.
Founded in 1865, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute was one of the first technological universities in the U.S. The academic departments at the school provide more than 50 options to undergraduate and graduate students, including fields of interest in technology, management, science, engineering, humanities, and the arts. The curriculum at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute focuses on teaching students about the most difficult challenges in science and technology, while also equipping them with the tools necessary to come up with a solution to these problems.
With more than 35,000 students attending the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the campus offers many activities and organizations for those who are enrolled. Sports, Greek clubs, music, performance centers, and other sources of entertainment can be found on campus, while the city of Boston, Massachusetts, is only a short hour away on the commuter rail service. The Worcester Polytechnic Institute offers several educational programs for students. Along with the undergraduate and graduate academic programs, the university also provides professional education services, summer education, and a K-12 outreach agenda.
I am thankful for the years of study I completed at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, as my professors prepared me for a lifelong career in the field of electronic engineering. For more information about the course list or admissions process for this university, visit the website at wpi.edu.

About Me by Emadeddin Muntasser, Emadeddin Muntasser's Blog on Bighsight
March, 2011
As an electrical engineer and the owner of a home furnishings business, I have enjoyed an interesting and highly successful career. A long-time resident of the Boston area, I studied electrical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 1982 and a Master’s degree in 1990. I completed my Master’s thesis by implementing an expert system capable of designing three-stage amplifiers.
I joined Analog Devices, Inc. as a Product Engineer while I was still in school, and I continue to work for the company today. In my time with Analog Devices, I have designed complex characterization circuits and test circuits and led the development of products including BiFET Operation Amplifiers. I have also developed hardware and software for IC Laser Trim and Automatic Test Equipment and helped design linear amplifiers. My work has given me the opportunity to learn a great deal about computer systems and coding. I am proficient in several programming languages, including Pascal, ELISP, Spice, and FORTRAN.
In addition to my duties at Analog Devices, I own and operate Logan Furniture, a family of household furnishings stores with locations in Dorchester, Lynn, Stoughton, Watertown, and Avon, Massachusetts. I founded the company in 1993, and I am very proud of the growth and success we have achieved since that time. At Logan Furniture, I feel gratified to offer high quality furnishings at attractive prices and help my customers with flexible financing options. On the company website, we provide product information, special deals, payment processing, and a shopping cart function which allows customers to purchase the items they want without having to visit a showroom. As President of Logan Furniture, I look forward to continued success as we build on our reputation for quality and service.
