As founder of CyberLaw P.C., Eric Menhart focuses his attention on many areas of information technology and intellectual property. A licensed attorney with a range of experience in both federal and state cases, Eric Menhart in several jurisdictional matters. Through his firm, CyberLaw P.C., Eric Menhart collaborates with attorneys who concentrate in IP, specialize in a number of fields. Eric Menhart guides clients through issues concerning domain name disputes, copyright and trademark protection, technology licensing, and online privacy. With successes in appellate and trial courts, Eric Menhart is dedicated to online businesses, communities and the Internet citizen.

Before founding CyberLaw, and prior to graduting from law school, Eric Menhart entered the world of Internet entrepreneurship by creating Maryland Legal Consumer Equity (MaryCLE, pronounced “miracle”). With MaryCLE, Eric Menhart tackled the issue of false and misleading commercial e-mail, at the time a relatively new new frontier of Internet law. In the span of only a few years, Eric Menhart brought the case eventally titled MaryCLE, LLC, et al. v. First Choice Internet, Inc., et al., Eric Menhart and MaryCLE worked to uphold the Maryland Commercial Electronic Mail Act (MCEMA), which prohibits fales and misleading e-mail. Winning the case in Maryland appellate court, Eric Menhart, represented by attorney Michael S. Rothman, successfully set legal precedent.

Immediately after law school, Eric Menhart gained experience as an associate at a small law firm concentrating in electronic torts and held the position of Paralegal at the U.S. Department of Justice. Eric Menhart graduated with a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
