Ethan Cohan: Executive In Charge of Production and Production Counsel

At Matt Westmore Media/No Regrets Entertainment, Ethan Cohan serves as Executive in Charge of Production and Production Counsel, a key position in the company. In this role, Mr. Cohan oversees daily production activities for a number of projects, develops budgets, works closely with a variety of networks, hires personnel, and sets and implements production processes and policies. In addition, Ethan Cohan drafts, reviews, and negotiates production contracts with producers, locations, vendors, network personnel, talent, and agents. Mr. Cohan contributes his legal expertise in the form of handling issues such as insurance, guild activities, and rights and clearances.

At Matt Westmore Media/No Regrets Entertainment, Ethan Cohan utilizes his wealth of experience in the fields of law and entertainment. After serving as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for seven years, he attended St. John’s University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. After serving as a Law Clerk for the New York District Attorney’s Office and as a Summer Associate for a private law firm, Ethan Cohan spent time at the firm of Jaffe & Asher LLP, where he worked on commercial and consumer debt litigation projects. In 2003, he moved back to Los Angeles and began to pursue a career in entertainment that afforded him the opportunity to work on a number of popular television shows in various roles that benefitted from his combined legal and production knowledge. Mr. Cohan’s foray into the world of entertainment began on hit shows such as NBC’s Fear Factor and ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition starring Ty Pennington and a cast of other home experts. Afterward, his career took off, he has since served in a production capacity for shows at NBC, CBS, ABC, BRAVO, TNT, MTV, E!, and other networks.

When Ethan Cohan joined Bunim/Murray Productions in 2006, he forged what would prove to become a long and prosperous relationship with the company. Until he assumed his most current roles as Executive in Charge of Production at Gordon Ramsay’s One Potato Two Potato production company and as Executive in Charge of Production and Production Counsel at Matt Westmore Media/No Regrets Entertainment, Ethan Cohan served as Executive in Charge of Production for numerous shows within the Bunim/Murray family. He worked in this and other capacities on Project Runway, Frat House, The Bad Girls, Models of the Runway, and Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In addition, Mr. Cohan handled production duties for The Spin Crowd, Laugh Off, The Simple Life, and America’s Psychic Challenge.
