Frank Svatousek, the Director of Risk and Compliance and one of the founders of Carta Worldwide, helped pioneer payment solutions through the use of prepaid cards in Canada and Europe. Growing up in Oakville, Ontario, Mr. Svatousek studied political science at the University of Western Ontario. After earning his Bachelor of Arts, Frank Svatousek enrolled at the University of Windsor, where he made the dean’s list and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Marketing in 1993.

A little over one year after completing his education, Frank Svatousek accepted a position as Business Development Manager for Tee-Comm Electronics in Toronto, where he negotiated with programming providers and managed the budgets for various internal projects. In 1997, he took a role abroad as General Manager of Multivision Pvt. Ltd., Sri Lanka’s first cable television network. With a team of 100 employees, he grew the subscriber base to 20,000 in only 2 years and helped bring popular Western programming from HBO and ESPN to the country. Returning to North America, Frank Svatousek accepted a role at Starchoice as Director of Business Development for multiple dwelling units such as apartment complexes and condominiums.

Because these structures have unique wiring concerns and building codes to abide by, property owners often utilize special satellite services so as to avoid installing and uninstalling dishes for each tenant that moves in or out. Since 2002, Frank Svatousek has primarily worked in the payment industry to provide simple payroll and banking solutions throughout Canada and Europe. An avid hockey fan, Frank Svatousek remains a season ticket holder for his home team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Like many Canadians, he counts Canada’s victory over the Soviet Union at the 1972 Olympics as one of his fondest memories of the game.

Frank Svatousek is also a big supporter of the International Green Movement and contributor to Green Peace. He is a strong believer in sustainable economic growth for the planet.
