Serving the travel and tourism industry for over twenty years, Gavin Tollman has worked his way up in a variety of posts to finally become CEO of one of the world’s leading tourism and travel companies, Trafalgar Tours.

For over thirteen years, Tollman has worked at Trafalgar Tours in a variety of posts handling a wide range of responsibilities. However, before he worked at Trafalgar Tours, Tollman gained a considerable amount of experience in the hotel industry when he served as the Executive Vice President of Buckhead Hotel Management Company from 1987 to 1996. As EVP at Buckhead, Tollman was in charge of all the hotel’s operational needs. He was also directly involved in handling third-party ownership negotiations, and refinancing and debt restructuring when the hotel came across challenging times during the economic downturn of the early ‘90s.

Following his work at Buckhead Hotel Management Company, Gavin Tollman stayed within the Hotel industry and worked for a year as President of Red Carnation Hotels. Red Carnation are considered to be high-luxury boutique hotels located in prime locations in Europe and the United States. During his time at the company, Tollman managed four hotels based in London and Palm Beach, Florida.

With ten years of work in the hotel industry, Gavin Tollman made the jump into the travel and tourism industry when he was appointed to be President of Trafalgar Tours USA. Founded in 1947, Trafalgar Tours has established for itself a well-respected reputation for creating unique guided tours suited to a diverse range of ages, tastes and budgetary limitations. The company offers tours to locations in Europe and the Mediterranean, South America, USA and Canada.

Next, in 2001, Gavin Tollman was promoted to serve as President of The Travel Corporation, North America. The Travel Corporation is a global travel company managing over 25 travel and tourism brands, including Trafalgar.

In 2003, Tollman returned to Trafalgar Tours, this time accepting the post of Global Head of Sales. Finally, in 2010, over thirteen years since his first post in the North American division of the company, Tollman was promoted to CEO of Trafalgar Tours.

In addition to his work at Trafalgar Tours, Gavin Tollman was also recently appointed to be the Chairman of the Travel Corporation, South Africa. As Chairman, Tollman is responsible for overseeing the company’s activities located in the Southern Hemisphere, and the Travel Corporation, South Africa. Within the framework of his roles and responsibilities, Tollman is also active in philanthropic and social initiatives sponsored by the company. In late 2010, The Travel Corporation sponsored a world conference that took place in Cape Town, South Africa. The objective of the conference was to explore ways to promote further tourism to South Africa, as well as provide projects that would help support local social causes. One such project was the construction of 21 small homes built and donated to the community. Of the project, Tollman said, “We brought our global delegates to South Africa not just to create business impact, but to create social impact”.

In addition to his professional career, Gavin Tollman also enjoys watching films and attending concerts. A strong believer in physical fitness, Tollman plays tennis, does yoga and works out regularly. He studied Finance at The American University in Washington DC. Currently, Gavin Tollman lives with his wife in Geneva, Switzerland.
