George Sandhu has actively contributed to the growth and development of this Mexico-based company, which has been a supplier of the U.S. department store chain Neiman Marcus since 1992. The company sells pieces by artist Emilia Castillo, including home furnishings, objets d’art, and tabletop wares made from various metals and natural elements, including turquoise, malachite, alabaster, and onyx. George Sandhu also acts as a Managing Member for Palmira Advisors S.C., a company that specializes in structuring investments in the fields of real estate and technology. Mr. Sandhu advises high-net-worth clients in Mexico and Europe. Previously, he created Target Growth Fund Ltd., a company based in Bermuda that encouraged investments in U.S. public companies involved in technology and biotechnology. He has also advised clients in several important real estate ventures, including the purchase of a 12-story, 107,000 square-foot New York loft building in Manhattan’s West Village. In 2006, George Sandhu advised clients on purchasing the Lower East Side property 250 Bowery, which was slated to become a hotel and is now being built as residential condominiums. In the late 1990s, George Sandhu served the International Investment Group. He also acted as Senior Director of the alternative investment management firm worth more than $400 million and led the IIG Equity Opportunities Fund Ltd. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, located in Ann Arbor. Despite his busy professional life, George Sandhu gives back to his community and acts as a philanthropist. He supports Habitat for Humanity International and Fundación Vargas of Mexico, a charity helping children with physical and mental disabilities. In addition, he has volunteered at a clinic in Costa Careyes, Mexico. He belongs to Soho House New York, a private club created in London in 1995, as well as Mexico’s Club Piso 51. When he has leisure time, George Sandhu enjoys playing tennis and golf, horseback riding, and traveling. When he wants to relax, he often picks up a book by J.D.
