Ginny obtained a B.S. from Washington and Lee University, with a double major in Physics-Engineering and Math. She then went on to Virginia Tech, where she earned her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, with a Biomedical Engineering Option through Wake Forest University Medical School. While at Virginia Tech, Ginny’s research focused on Injury Biomechanics, and she completed her masters thesis on “Statistical Analysis and Computational Modeling of Airbag-Induced Injuries to People in Automobile Crashes.” This prepared her well for her current job at General Motors where she designs, engineers, tests, and integrates airbags into various vehicles in the General Motors fleet.
In her spare time, Ginny is in her 6th season of coaching the Birmingham Women’s high school lacrosse team (BWLAX)—and has high expectations of a repeat state championship title in 2008.
