Both of Gita Shetty’s children share her passion for academic achievement, earning straight “A’s” in school, and one of them has achieved admission to Harvard University. Children and giving are two strong points in Gita Shetty’s life. Gita has been a volunteer at Benjamin School for many years, and she has given her time as a volunteer at hospitals in Chennai, India and an orphanage in Mangalore, India. Additionally, Gita Shetty sponsored two underprivileged children for 10 years, covering health, school, and living costs. Gita’s first career as a travel agency owner for 10 years allowed her to travel extensively all over the world including the Artic circle, China, and the Galapagos Islands. She has stayed in Dubai at the only 7 star hotel in the world. Gita Shetty has also stressed the importance of hard work to her children, and she has exemplified this notion through her service in a geriatric hospital, as well as a mental hospital in Pittsburgh. Gita Shetty gives her time and energy to causes outside of her vocation by serving as a member of the Palm Beach Medical Society Alliance board, as well as the Palm Beach India Association board. Gita Shetty also supports the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Race for the Cure, and Easter Seals, and she has donated to Indian earthquake relief efforts and hurricane relief work in Haiti.
