Judge Glenda Sanders is a graduate of England’s Cambridge University and South Africa’s Natal University. Beginning her career in law as an Assistant Professor, Judge Glenda Sanders taught Corporate and Constitutional Law to students at the University of Cape Town. Following this period, Judge Glenda Sanders attended Cambridge University where she obtained a Masters degree in Law. She later returned to South Africa where she practiced as a Barrister until January 1986. In 1986, Judge Glenda Sanders became an Associate with the international law firm, Latham & Watkins, LLP. Judge Glenda Sanders spent seven years as an Associate with Latham & Watkins before making Partner in 1992. She practiced as a partner in that firm until 2000. While Judge Glenda Sanders dealt with a wide variety of commercial disputes, she concentrated on securities and intellectual property matters during her time with Latham & Watkins. She was active in law firm management through her membership on the firm’s Associates and Recruiting Committees, which oversaw associate advancement, partnership recommendations, and new hires. Glenda Sanders was sworn in as a Judge of the Superior Court of California in January 2003. She initially presided at the West Justice Center in Westminster, California. Between October 2006 and October 2008, Judge Glenda Sanders was Supervising Judge of the Harbor Justice Center, a collection of courts located in Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, and Laguna Niguel. From October 2008 to July 2009, Judge Glenda Sanders presided over felony jury trials at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, Orange County, California. Judge Glenda Sanders has taught at the New Judge Orientation College, presided over the Constitutional Rights Foundation’s mock trials and Peer Court, and served as an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University, where she taught Federal Courts and Advanced Civil Procedure. Judge Glenda Sanders is currently presiding over unlimited jurisdiction civil trials and motions at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, Orange County, California.
