Dr. Grant Schmidt leverages nearly two decades of didactic expertise as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in his current role as an educational consultant. Beginning his career as a teacher with Alief Independent School District in Houston, Texas, Dr. Grant Schmidt focused his educational efforts on students from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Grant Schmidt later joined the Douglas County School District, where he served two terms as teacher and a third term as Standards Specialist. In 1999, Dr. Schmidt accepted a position as Principal with Aurora Public Schools. Several years later Dr. Schmidt became Principal of St. Vrain Valley School District. Dr. Grant Schmidt eventually shifted career roles to serve as Superintendent of Falcon School District in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he enhanced operating efficiency and effectiveness by revamping the district’s central office. Throughout his career as an education professional, Dr. Grant Schmidt received numerous honors for his service as an educator and leader. In 1996 and 1998, Dr. Schmidt received the Outstanding Teacher Award at Douglas County School District. Dr. Grant Schmidt was also awarded Hard Work Recognition from the Fall River Parent Teacher Association in 2003, Board of Education Recognition of Appreciation from Del Paso Heights School District, and the Outstanding Recognition Award from Falcon School District in 2008. Dr. Grant Schmidt received his doctorate from the University of Denver in Educational Administration and Policy Studies. Dr. Schmidt earned his Master of Education from the University of Phoenix in Educational Administration and his Bachelor of Science from Millikin University in Elementary Education. Apart from his duties in the educational sector, Dr. Grant Schmidt is dedicated to community activism through his charitable services and donations. Dr. Schmidt remains a committed member of the Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce, Pike’s Peak Alliance, Longmont Community Optimist Club, Sacramento County Arts, Esprit deCorps, and Parker Swim Club. He also serves as President of the Board Empire Oaks School Site Council. Aside from his personal service, Dr. Grant Schmidt donates generously to the Care Share Food Bank. Dr. Grant Schmidt remains an active member of the Association of California School Administrators, School Employers Association of California, Sacramento County Curriculum Committee, North Area Curriculum and Instruction Group, Colorado Association of School Executives, International Reading Association, Colorado Council of the International Reading Association, National Association of Elementary School Principals, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics, National Council for the Social Sciences, National Staff Development Council, and the District Management Council.
