Gregg Baty earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Morehouse College, the acclaimed Atlanta, Georgia, institution. Gregg Baty later went on to graduate with a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. For 17 years, Gregg Baty’s career in finance and marketing, including 4 years in leasing, has connected him with financial organizations throughout Maryland. The investment firm now known as Alex. Brown Deutsche Bank hired Gregg Baty for a position in fixed income sales and trading. Gregg Baty also spent time as Vice President of the Harbor Bank of Maryland. Today, Gregg Baty works for Columbia, Maryland’s Grant Capital Management, Inc. (GCMI) as its Vice President. GCMI’s business involves providing equipment leases and energy performance contracts for non-profit and public institutions, such as schools and government organizations. Gregg Baty regularly participates in his community. From 1993 to 1997, Gregg Baty volunteered as a Big Brother for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Maryland, and he currently serves as an alternate member for Maryland’s Board of Liquor License Commissioners. From 2002 until 2005, Gregg Baty was a trustee and board member for the Living Classrooms Foundation, a group that provides children with education through practical experiences. Many organizations invite Gregg Baty to be a speaker at events. Gregg Baty spoke during the sponsor remarks at the 2010 Youth Empowerment Breakfast in Decatur, Georgia, and as a panelist on alternative financing for the 2009 National Association of Towns and Townships Legislative Conference.
