Twenty years of experience have led Dr. Marwah to focus on working with her patients to manage the symptoms of disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Originally from India and fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and English, Dr. Marwah completed her undergraduate education at H.M.V. College in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. She studied human psychology and English literature before attending the esteemed Government Medical College in Amritsar, Punjab, where she received a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1991. Following her time at Government Medical College, Dr. Marwah spent a year as a Rotating Intern at Civil Hospital in Jalandhar, where she rose to the role of House Officer in the Department of Surgery. In 1996, she moved to the United States, following her completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). She settled in Phoenix, Arizona, where she spent a year as a Rotating Observer in the Department of Psychiatry at Maricopa Medical Center. Four years later, Dr. Marwah completed her psychiatry residency, also at Maricopa Medical Center, and passed the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification exam. In February 2002, Gurjot Marwah opened her private practice in Tempe, and she continues to see patients there today. Dr. Marwah maintains board certification with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
