For more than 30 years, Hans Sack has been immersed in business management and the special metals and steel industry. A longtime resident of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Hans Sack has worked in executive and managerial capacities for some of the largest metals manufacturing and distribution firms in the world. Chief Executive Officer and President of Latrobe Steel Company from 1996 to 2006, Hans Sack led his company to new heights in sales, marketing, and efficiency, gaining a solid foothold in the global steel marketplace. Hans Sack’s accomplishments during this time include the development of a strong client base in the Asia-Pacific region, nearly 300 percent sales growth in a 10-year period, and the acquisition of multiple steel distributors in the United States. Hans Sack became CEO and President of The Timken Company following a successful 2-year stint as Vice President of Manufacturing for its Alloy Steel Business, where he oversaw a yield improvement of $5 million, an uptime improvement of 10 percent. Additionally, he implemented a modernization program to build a greater presence in the steel bar business. Previously, Hans Sack served as General Manager of the Precision Steel Components Business, Project Manager of Steel Components Strategy, and Area Manager of a small bar mill for The Timken Company. Prior to The Timken Company, Hans Sack worked for four years as General Manager of the Coolant Systems Division at Mannesmann-Demag-Sack GmbH in Duesseldorf, Germany. Hans Sack also performed as Assistant Division General Manager for the Pennsylvania Engineering Corporation, was a summer associate at McKinsey & Co., and held the role of Production Engineer at Thyssen AG. A graduate of Harvard Business School and Rheinisch-Westfalische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen University, Hans Sack completed both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Mechanical Engineering.
