Helen Coggin - Photographer and Sales Associate at JCPenney Portrait Studios

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Helen Coggin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Coggin built a solid educational foundation in art, shooting, and editing, even studying photography and art history in Florence, Italy.

Helen Coggin began her art career as a Photo Lab Technician at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Meanwhile, she watched over artwork and gallery space and welcomed patrons as a Gallery Guard at the University’s Institute of Visual Arts (INOVA). Building her leadership experience, she served as an elected officer for the photography club, FOCUS. As a volunteer, Coggin later photographed well-known artist Paul Druecke’s artwork at the Green Gallery East in Milwaukee.

Today, Helen Coggin helps families capture memories through portraits as Sales Associate and Photographer for JCPenney Portrait Studios in Madison. She also trains new workers in addition to answering phones, handling consultations and appointments, and leading photo shoots. Coggin is familiar with multiple kinds of cameras as well as software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Along with her professional career, Helen Coggin has had numerous photos displayed at exhibitions throughout Milwaukee. Her work has appeared at BYO Studio Lounge, INOVA, Borg Ward Collective, Kunzelmann-Esser Lofts, and other places throughout the city as well as at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence. A resident of Madison, Coggin enjoys seeing live music and going to museums in her spare time.
