An ADR (automated dialogue replacement) Engineer with a specialization in post-production Spanish and Portuguese language dubbing, Helgar Pedrini has spent more than 30 years as one of the top professionals in his field. Born and raised in Uruguay, Helgar Pedrini laid the educative foundation for his career as an undergraduate at the Montevideo-based University of the Republic from 1964 through 1968. During this time, Helgar Pedrini pursued studies in a wide range of topics, ultimately settling on business administration as his major. In the midst of political upheaval in the late 1960s, Helgar Pedrini moved from Uruguay to the United States, arriving in Los Angeles in 1970. For the next several years, Helgar Pedrini worked in a variety of sales positions, including auto, carpet, and household electronics, all in pursuit of the American dream. Helgar Pedrini eventually found his métier after taking a position with Intersound, Inc., a Spanish language dubbing firm with a worldwide client base in the film and television industries. At Intersound, Inc., Helgar Pedrini held a number of responsibilities as a translator and adaptor of foreign films and television programs into Latin American Spanish, leading to additional work in voiceover dubbing and acting. Owing to his exceptional performance with Intersound, Inc., Helgar Pedrini began to direct and manage different projects and subsequently formed Burbank-based Spanish Production Group in 1983. Since then, Helgar Pedrini has established Spanish Production Group (now known as SPG Studios, Inc.) as the premier ADR studio for Spanish and Portuguese dubbing, with expertise in all dialects. We also have a strong partnership with HBO, providing them with Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese language translation and dubbing on hit series such as True Blood, Entourage, and Bored to Death. Current HBO Latin America projects include the drama Boardwalk Empire, starring Steve Buscemi. The critically acclaimed show set in prohibition-era Atlantic City is produced by Martin Scorsese.
