Mr. Hugh J. Maddox is currently a Mid-Continent Land Manager for ORCA Resources, LLC, an oil and gas company located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For almost three years, Hugh J. Maddox has analyzed, interpreted, negotiated, and drafted exploration contracts between his company and landowners. In addition to negotiations, Hugh J. Maddox also performs typical land administration and handles various resolutions. Hugh J. Maddox also acts as a liaison between his company and mineral and royalty owners and working interest partners while overseeing multiple vendors and brokers on other projects. Working in the field, Hugh J. Maddox assembles and organizes collected data in order to present it in a methodical fashion to ORCA Resources. Hugh J. Maddox must also build a rapport with an outside council in this position, providing for smooth relations with his company. Before joining ORCA Resources, Hugh J. Maddox performed a similar role for Samson Resources, an exploration and production company. As a Northeastern Texas Land Manager for Samson Resources, Hugh J. Maddox evaluated records, leases, abstracts, and titles to gain information about what land was available for acquisition, whether the final goal was development or divestiture. Ultimately, Hugh J. Maddox was responsible for recommending various exploration activities for each property, such as farm-ins or farm-outs, as well as maintaining leases and forging healthy relationships with co-owners. A graduate of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, Hugh J. Maddox holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. Throughout college, Hugh J. Maddox was well known for his outstanding athletic abilities. Hugh J. Maddox served as team captain for the University of Akron’s soccer team for two years and also made the Academic All Conference two years in a row. Today, Hugh J. Maddox continues to stay active by running, hiking, and skiing. When he has the time, Hugh J. Maddox also enjoys fly-fishing.
