Ogletree

Hunter Ogletree has more than five years of experience in youth development, particularly in serving youth in need, both domestically and abroad.

Hunter Ogletree was recently employed as a migrant education program specialist involved in youth development for the Henderson County Public Schools in Henderson, North Carolina. In his four years in this position, Hunter Ogletree took coordinative and supervisory roles in the logistics and planning of a summer program for over 70 migrant youth, doubling the program size from 2008 to 2009. Coordinating with school officials and community agencies, Hunter Ogletree assessed the educational needs of over 150 migrant Latino farm worker families in Henderson County.

Hunter Ogletree began his career in public service in 2003, serving through the U.S. Peace Corps in the municipality of Santa Ana located in the department of La Paz, Honduras. In his two years with the Peace Corps, Hunter Ogletree worked as a municipal development officer, helping to provide local residents with greater access to water and sanitation services, as well as environmental and sanitation education. Hunter Ogletree took the opportunity to become fluent in Spanish while in Honduras, and led an environmental youth club that planted trees and built clean-burning stoves for the community.

From 2005 to 2006, Hunter Ogletree worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as a strategic program specialist, fostering relationships between the US and host country governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to facilitate growth in international development sectors. In this capacity, Hunter Ogletree developed strong cross-cultural communication skills, networking and collaborating with many different individuals and organizations in an international setting.

Through his extensive experience working in international and multicultural settings, Hunter Ogletree has developed into a team player with highly developed leadership skills, maintaining high standards of performance and accountability.
