As the Principal of Hunter Whitney & Associates, Inc., Hunter Whitney provides organizations with solutions that take into account the complexity, scope, and influence of stakeholders. In 2002, Hunter Whitney founded his company, originally known as The Whitney Media Group, Inc. Hunter Whitney achieves his clients’ goals through methodical research, including user and stakeholder interviews, user scenarios, comprehensive wireframes, and creative approaches to user experience design.

Hunter Whitney applies a broad knowledge of user experience design and information architecture in his work; providing users with engaging experiences in a variety of digital media platforms. Hunter Whitney’s methods for developing his strategies evolved from years of experience with a range of verticals.

Prior to his role with Hunter Whitney & Associates, Inc., Hunter Whitney consulted for the Monterey Bay Aquarium from 2001 to 2006. Hunter Whitney worked with the web team manager to organize tens of thousands of pages of content in ways that were both more discoverable and engaging. One of the most challenging aspects of the the project was that the corrections had to be implemented and deployed in stages. Various user interface (UI) mock-ups were created to find one that suited the needs of users, emphasizing both relevancy and ease-of-use.

Hunter Whitney’s exceptional work with the Monterey Bay Aquarium has been recognized with a manager’s recommendation on his LinkedIn profile. According to Hunter Whitney’s former supervisor at the aquarium, “He was excellent in achieving significant improvements in design, usability and web metrics in several key areas. He exceeded all our expectations.”

Hunter Whitney has worked with more than 20 organizations, such as Yahoo!, Intel, Microsoft, the National Cancer Institute, and the Defense Intelligence Agency – part of the U.S. Department of Defense. Hunter Whitney’s consulting services have benefitted many industries and helped give start-ups an identity.

Hunter Whitney graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Furthering his educational pursuits, Hunter Whitney received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
