Since receiving his law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1981, J. Mark Brewer has developed a reputation for being a qualified and effective lawyer. Mr. Brewer has been admitted to the Bar in Missouri, Texas; the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces; the United States Supreme Court; the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th Circuits of the United States Court of Appeals; and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas and the Western District of Missouri. He has been an active member of the American Bar Association, where he served on several committees, including the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, and the Tort and Insurance Practice Section. J. Mark Brewer is a member of the American Association for Justice and a Life Fellow with the Texas Bar Association.

J. Mark Brewer has been with the law firm of Brewer & Pritchard, PC, in Houston, Texas since helping found it in 1991. For the past two decades, Mr. Brewer has served as the firm’s Managing Director and President. Aside from overseeing the office’s 20 legal professionals, Mr. Brewer has developed a national and international reputation for his legal skill in dealing with issues of construction design and defects in high-rise commercial buildings, large-contract negotiation and arbitration, and tort and commercial litigation. Mr. Brewer has argued cases before state, federal, and JAG courts, where he has won multimillion-dollar verdicts. His case expertise includes defamation jury trials, employment arbitrations, and patent and trade secret litigation. Prior to founding Brewer & Pritchard, J. Mark Brewer was an Attorney for Margolin & Kirwan in Kansas City, Missouri; and Winstead, McGuire, Sechrest & Minick in Houston. He also served as a Chief Military Justice and Assistant Staff Judge Advocate for the United States Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom.

  • J. Mark Brewer on Ways to Support the Houston Symphony

    Texas attorney J. Mark Brewer serves as President and Managing Director of Brewer & Pritchard, PC, which he helped establish. J. Mark Brewer believes in giving back and supports numerous organizations, including the Houston Symphony.

    The Houston Symphony entertains more than 350,000 people through at least 170 concerts each year. In 2013, the organization will celebrate 100 years. The following describes various means to assist the Symphony in continuing to provide entertainment and education to the community.

    Volunteerism:
    The Symphony relies on volunteers for a wide array of activities. Some staff the Symphony Store, while others demonstrate instruments in the Houston area. They also assist with Jones Hall concerts for families and students, as well as raise money to benefit the organization.

    Philanthropy:
    The Symphony accepts donations from individuals and enterprises. The group’s website features a page that facilitates one-time online contributions, and individuals may donate in honor or in memory of a loved one. In addition, the Focus on the Music campaign has helped restore the Symphony’s library holdings, which suffered in Tropical Storm Allison.

In addition to offering food, fuel, and housing assistance for displaced persons globally, the International Orthodox Christian Charities has provided more than $13 million worth of medical equipment and medicine to St. Nectarios Clinic, located in Parktown, Zimbabwe.
