Fighting for the Day When All Students Have Access to a High-Quality Education

Jacob Landry graduated from Louisiana State University in 2006 after studying political communication and poultry science. During his undergraduate years he studied in Aix-en-Provence, France, as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, and was awarded a Harry S. Truman scholarship for his commitment to public service. He has volunteered extensively for the March of Dimes and has worked with City Year in Louisiana and South Africa.

After graduating from LSU, Jacob taught fourth grade language arts as a Teach For America corps member on the Leeward coast of Oahu. He spent the subsequent year as a recruitment director for Teach For America in the Pacific Northwest.

Jacob is currently a special adviser to the Louisiana state superintendent of education. In this role he works to craft education policy and serves as a leader on Louisiana’s Race to the Top strategy team.
