Jacquelin Percious

Tucson, Arizona

A certified Plant Based Nutritionist from the T. Colin Campbell Foundation at Cornell University, Jacquelin Percious promotes healthy concepts and lifestyles through her career and website. Jacquelin Percious changed her lifestyle and eliminated the need for all medications by committing to healthier eating habits, regular exercise, and an optimistic mindset. Upon accepting the position of the first female Executive Director at the YMCA of Southern Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Percious gained an appreciation for training the mind, body, and spirit. Subsequently, Jacquelin Percious established simply-healthy-lifestyle.com, a website on which Ms. Percious currently shares her personal challenges and triumphs, as well as guidance for achieving an active and healthy existence. Jacquelin Percious’ open-mindedness and dedication to learning led to years of university education, and although she began her studies as an art scholar, Ms. Percious’ love for classical instruments resulted in her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Arizona. Additionally, Jacquelin Percious dedicated 20 years to teaching classical guitar and classical piano. Ms. Percious currently holds the title of President of the Performing Arts Council in San Carlos, Mexico, a non-profit volunteer organization that presents a series of professional musical performances. Among Jacquelin Percious’ numerous endeavors is her management experience at the Santa Cruz Humane Society. She also remains devoted to World Wildlife Fund and is a benevolent supporter of the Sociedad Benefactora y Protección Animales de San Carlos A.C., an organization dedicated to the protection of domestic and feral creatures. Jacquelin Percious has lived in various places around the globe, including Findochty, Scotland; Heidelberg, Germany; and outside of Charlotte Amalie in the Virgin Islands on a moored sailboat. Throughout her travels, Jacquelin Percious encountered few convenient meal options. Upon returning to the United States with its endless fast-food selections, Ms. Percious lost touch with a healthy lifestyle. This prompted increased weight, arthritis, elevated blood pressure and cholesterol, and a pre-diabetic condition. After reading Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s The China Study and researching the eating habits of the Abkhazians, Vilcabambans, Hunzas, and Okinawans—diverse people groups known for their health and longevity, Jacquelin Percious discovered a way to boost her immune system and transform her life. While focusing on the importance of aging gracefully by way of a healthy diet, Ms. Percious created simply-healthy-lifestyle.com. Jacquelin Percious remains a health advocate in San Carlos, Mexico, where she continues to teach the benefits of plant-based cuisine.
