After graduating from Methodist High School in India, Burma native Jagdip Powar transferred to the Armed Forces Medical College, the premier medical institution in Pune. Jagdip Powar was an active and overachieving student as a member of the debating society and drama club. Jagdip graduated in 1974 with his Doctor of Medicine. After being granted his medical degree, Jagdip Powar traveled westward to further his medical studies as a graduate student of the University of Connecticut, where he graduated in 1980. In 1982, Jagdip Powar entered into private practice in Palo Alto, California. Specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Powar is highly experienced in treating a variety of female medical issues, including menstrual problems, birth control, gynecological surgery, bladder problems, fibroids, and endometriosis. The office of Dr. Jagdip Powar is committed to promoting the well-being of women at every stage of their lives. Through education and dialogue, Dr. Powar seeks to give power to his patients to maintain informed responsibility for their health care decisions. His patients are treated with high esteem in an atmosphere of extreme care and compassion. Dr. Powar has lectured extensively on women’s health issues at the Stanford Medical School, where he serves as an Associate Professor. He was awarded for his outstanding teaching efforts with the ObGyn Resident Teaching Award from the Stanford Medical School in both 1992 and 1996. He has been designated as one of the Best Doctors in Silicon Valley in 2003 and 2005.
