Retired, Fmr. Senior Managing Director, Charles Schwab
James Raphalian is an expert in the finance industry who can tuck over 30 years of industry experience under his belt. From 2002 to 2007, Raphalian was the Senior Vice President and Head of Institutional Sales for the New York branch of Schwab Capital Markets, the trading and execution arm of Charles Schwab. At Schwab, Raphalian more than doubled Schwab Capital’s sales department business. Raphalian earned his business chops working for SG Cowen Securities Corporation, where he increased revenues fivefold in the sales and NASDAQ trading department between 1998 to 2002. Prior to his position at SG Cowen Securities Corporation, Raphalian worked for a multitude of trading and sales positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, UBS PaineWebber and Prudential Securities. Raphalian has appeared on numerous television and radio programs such as CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg. Raphalian is a member of The Security Traders Association of New York, also known as SANY. Over the years, Raphalian has contributed to numerous local New Jersey charities and still continues to contribute since his retirement from Schwab in 2007. Raphalian is an active member with the CARES foundation; he helped raise over $117,000 for CARES and CAH research during a fundraiser on June 17, 2006. Raphalian continues to give ongoing financial advice to the CARES organization. Raphalian‘s other community service includes his position on the dinner committee of The ARC of Essex County, a private non-profit agency that provides important services for the developmentally disabled and their families. Raphalian also served a brief stint on the Saint Jude committee.
