Supporting an assortment of medical and artistic causes, Jane Nathanson participates in a number of charitable endeavors.Los Angeles, CaliforniaOver the past several decades, Jane Fallek Nathanson has provided an impressive level of support to her community through her charitable giving to the arts and medical research. As a founder and trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, she has acted as chairwoman for a number of important events, including the museum’s opening, the Andy Warhol Exhibit, the Robert Rauschenberg Retrospective, the Lucien Freud Exhibit, and MOCA’s 25th Anniversary. Jane Nathanson is also a trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the founder of the Aspen Art Museum’s Jane and Marc Nathanson Distinguished Artist in Residence Program, and a member of the Blue Ribbon 400. Jane Nathanson’s humanitarian efforts in the medical field have also been widely recognized. As trustees of the UCLA Medical Center, Jane Nathanson and her husband endowed the Nathanson Family Resource Center at UCLA’s Jane & Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior to provide information and support for families who are coping with mental illness. As a member of the Board of Trustees of amfAR (the Foundation for AIDS Research), Jane Nathanson was honored with the organization’s Distinguished Service Award. In 2000, Governor Gray Davis appointed her to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, where she served for five years. Possessing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, Jane Nathanson practices in Westwood, California. She previously spent two years writing an advice column for Los Angeles Confidential magazine. A dedicated political activist, Jane Nathanson has acted as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention on two separate occasions.
