Fullerton Children’s Repertory Theater
November, 2010
by Jared West
The Fullerton Children’s Repertory Theater has provided North Orange County’s youth with rewarding experiences in American musical theater since 1983. The Fullerton Children’s Repertory Theater encourages area fifth through eighth graders to audition for the theater’s summer and winter Broadway shows, which are produced by directors Vicki Schindele and Brian and Lauren Johnson. Approximately 50 members participate in each show, and productions last for eight performances over three weekends. The Fullerton Children’s Repertory Theater uses a professional paid staff, including former members, now teenagers, who act as technical crew. At Fullerton Children’s Repertory Theater, children play all the roles while parents support their children’s efforts in any way possible. Read more at www.fcrtcompany.com. Consciousness Center of Orange County: The Consciousness Center of Orange County (CCOC) was designed to give local residents a place and community of like-minded individuals interested in expanding their conscious awareness. The CCOC conducts classes, lectures, and seminars focusing on meditation and spirituality, Hinduism, Christian Metaphysics, Taoism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islamism, and more. The CCOC was co-founded and is led by a team of ministers, life coaches, spiritual advisors, teachers, and entrepreneurs. Co-founders include Delores Coats, Chuck Iverson, Mary O’Malley, Richard J. Meyer, and Janet Peloquin. The CCOC is a volunteer-based organization, which allows members of the community to form their own mediation and discussion groups and lead outreach activities. Read more about CCOC at www.consciousnesscenter.org. Orangewood Children’s Foundation: The Orangewood Children’s Foundation supports the efforts of the Orangewood Children’s Home, a safe haven where children at risk for abuse are placed temporarily. The Orangewood Children’s Foundation seeks long-term solutions for children who are removed from their homes due to the threat of abuse. The Orangewood Children’s Foundation helps children find emergency assistance, job placement, transitional housing, peer counseling, and the scholarships they need to attend college or vocational school. Since 1981, the Orangewood Children’s Foundation has been active in helping children through the support of private citizens and community leaders.
