Husband and father Jatinder-Bir Sandhu has given a lot to the State of Michigan. Born in Chandigarh, India, Mr. Sandhu has spent the majority of his adult life living and working in the upper Midwest. After graduating high school, he attended Butler University in northern Indiana. Mr. Sandhu studied physics and biology, graduating in 1987 with honors and earning a Bachelor of Science. Subsequently, Jatinder-Bir Sandhu began studying business at the University of Detroit Mercy. While pursuing his Master’s degree, he began working as a Production Manager for NYX, Inc., an automotive components company with locations throughout Michigan. Mr. Sandhu completed his Master of Business Administration in 1990. After graduate school, Jatinder-Bir Sandhu continued to work for NYX, Inc. Before long, Mr. Sandhu earned a promotion to Plant Manager, where he oversaw the operations at NYX’s Schoolcraft, Michigan, location. He eventually became the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In that role, he witnessed the company become a $250 million enterprise and oversaw 8 separate acquisitions. This experience prepared him to lead the firm as President, a post he holds today. When not working, Jatinder-Bir Sandhu participates in his community in a number of ways. He serves as Treasurer to the Greenhills School, a college preparatory institution for grades 6 to 12 in Ann Arbor. He also contributes to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. He was recently honored by Butler University as part of its “50 under 50” and participates as a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
